Purple Coneflower

This is a beautiful perennial with large purple flowers to seven inches across on stems to four feet tall. This Echinacea variety has petals with a more horizontal orientation than other purple varieties of Echinacea. While Echinacea's may bring to mind cottage gardens, they are enjoying renewed use in other garden applications due to their beauty, versatility, and drought resistance. This plant is perhaps best used in mixed perennial beds and borders.
