Night Blooming Cereus

 

A tall, tree-like columnar cactus with 5-9 ribbed bluish-green stems and scattered reddish-brown spines along ribs. Large, funnel-shaped, white flowers bloom at night in late spring followed by big, red, egg-shaped fruits. With its impressive outline, Cereus is effective in the ground or in large containers. Protect from hard frosts.
