Cannas are perfect for a tropical look in the landscape. These rhizomatous herbaceous perennials have large, paddle-shaped leaves that range in colors from green, bronzy red, multi-colored striped or variegated. Showy, asymmetrical flowers are brightly colored in shades of yellow, orange, pink, scarlet, or red. Blooms may also be bicolored or spotted. Medium to tall varieties usually reach heights more than 4 ft. tall up to 8 ft.
