Lemon Bottlebrush Standard
This is the most commonly grown bottlebrush and it is the most tolerant of heat, cold, and poor soils. This massive shrub can be trained to tree or espalier form and makes a dramatic hedge or screen plant. Narrow evergreen foliage emerges coppery and ages to vivid green with a lemony scent when bruised or crushed. Scarlet bottlebrush-shaped flowers consist mainly of long bristle-like stamens and bloom during the warm season.
