Bougainvillea 'Purple Queen' (Bush Type)

 

Bougainvillea are characterized by vibrant colors on large petal-like bracts that surround the inconspicuous true flowers. Native to tropical South America, Bougainvillea are essentially scrambling shrubs that bloom most vigorously in hot, full sun. 'Purple Queen' has deep purple bracts and can reach a climbing height of 15 feet with support. As a ground cover it will grow 1 1/2 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide
