Bitter Aloe

 

A tall, single trunk plant (6 ft. or more after 10 years) with a single crown and persistent old leaves on the trunk. Long leaves form a dense rosette and have many scattered spines on the outer surface. The margins are armed with large, sharp reddish teeth.
