This architectural succulent is recognizable by its large urn-shape and thick, graceful, dark grey-green recurving leaves with projecting spines and massive stature. When plant matures and bloom the tall candelabra inflorescence rises to over 20 feet bearing yellow flowers that attract birds and bees. Drought tolerant. Agave salmiana var. ferox is less cold hardy than the species. A real specimen agave.
